As a Catholic School, our Catholic faith underpins all our actions. St Joseph’s Primary School promotes a learning community where all aspects of education are nourished. We strongly value the notion of partnership in education, encouraging families to take an active role in working with the school to meet every child’s needs.

Catholic primary schools in the Diocese of Lismore use the following order of priority for enrolment:

  1. Baptised Catholic children of Catholic families from within the parish/region.
  2. Children of Catholic families from within the parish/region. Children of other-than-Catholic families who currently have or have had siblings within the school (including children of employees of the Diocese of Lismore).
  3. Other-than-Catholic children transferring from another Catholic school, first from within the Diocese of Lismore, then from other Catholic Dioceses.
  4. Children who access parish early childhood services.
  5. Children are recommended for consideration by the Parish Priest.
  6. Children of other-than-Catholic families who are open to and supportive of the spiritual and religious possibilities offered by a Catholic school.

Children enrolling into kindergarten must turn five years of age on or before 31 July of the year of commencement. All children must be in compulsory schooling by their sixth birthday. Students are expected to start school at the beginning of the academic year.

Parents wishing to enrol their students will need to fill in an enrolment form and arrange for an interview with the Principal.

'We moved to Coraki in November 2021, after residing in Darwin for years where our daughter attended school with 25 to 30 students in her class, with limited teachers. Once we settled into Coraki we were informed of a school in Coraki named St Joseph’s that our child could attend and had a good name. We made an appointment and had our first meeting with the School Principal, and were not disappointed. However, we were a little apprehensive about the small size of the school and how our child would adapt to only having three others in her class.

It is now June, and we could not be happier with the school and all the teachers and students, we could not be happier the way they have welcomed our family into their school community. Our child has gained so much knowledge and is progressing along very well. All the teachers are more than happy to assist with any questions, from the moment you enter the school to our departure everyone is so helpful. Our child has been challenged and is growing very well since attending St Joseph’s. We would not hesitate in recommending St Joseph’s Coraki to anyone wishing a great education for their child,' - Jack and Julie, parents of an Early Stage 1 student.
